Why I've Been Gone SOOOO Long

Where have I been these past two months? It's unbelievable how fast time flies when you have a sweet little smiley baby to play with. It's amazing how little I get done now that I have this little fuzz-head to cuddle!

I've been working on some new wood slice paintings. I've been inspired by peach and teal, and my love of trees, of course!

My Itsy-Bitsy Helper

Maura has been helping with packing and shipping some orders. And by helping, I mean being content enough to give me some time to get my orders completed. I love having the company of this cutie while I'm working!

summer flair

Maura and I took a walk around town today, and it is humid! It's the kind of weather that makes me wish I was on the beach or at least at the swimming pool!

It's a great time of year for ocean critter brooches, and I have a great selection in my Etsy shop. All of my brooches are hand cut from scrap wood and hand painted with care. This whale brooch is one of my favorites!

Baby Maura

My sweet baby, Maura Elizabeth, finally made her appearance 7 days late on June 26th, and let me tell you, it was well worth the wait! I cannot begin to describe how much I'm enjoying being Maura's mommy. I feel so filled with love for my little family, and I'm so grateful for all of the people who have supported and congratulated us over these last couple of weeks.

Jason and Maura - two of my favorite folks!

During my new baby bliss, my Etsy shop is still open, and it's filled with all kinds of delicous looking hand painted magnets!

The Ultimate Breakfast mix - look at those bacon magnets sizzle!

Overdue

Yesterday was Baby Schmit's official due date, thus making her officially overdue! Jason and I are so anxiously awaiting her arrival.

Here I am, still pregnant, but still happy (thank goodness for air conditioning):

While I wait, though, I have been able to make time for a little bit of painting! This "Adventure" sign is in progress and will be headed to its new home, soon!

Snacks/Magnets

Just because I wish I had a big ol' bowl of guacamole right now, I've decided to show off my guacamole mix magnet set. It's delicious (but in all reality, it's inedible, so don't eat it.) My magnets are made from naturally fallen cedar branches and each one is hand painted. Add a little piece of magnetic art to your refrigerator!

XXL Dahlia

It may not meet the dictionary definition of 'art', but it's still (mostly) handmade. I mean, I planted it myself.

Biggest most beautiful dahlia. ever.
